Robert Half is currently looking for a Financial Accountant (m/v) for a company region Ghent.

As a Financial Accountant, you contribute to the process of the daily general accounting transactions and to the statutory accounting and reporting of all legal entities (Belgium, the UK, Germany, France & The Netherlands).

In this position, you report directly to the Chief Accountant.

Key responsibilities:

• Daily accounting operations: You provide support in performing the daily general accounting tasks (bank statements, payroll accounting and other costs, etc);
• Payments: You provide support in preparing, finalizing (after validation), and announcing all payments (suppliers, expenses, social costs, VAT, professional tax and tax). Doing so, you guarantee all outgoing payments are timely and correctly processed, and support the cash flow management of the entity;
• Statutory accounting (incl. fin audit): You provide support in preparing the statutory accounts of all entities in compliance with the local accounting legislation. Doing so, you provide audited statutory accounts for approval to the shareholders meeting;
• VAT / Tax: You provide support in calculating the entities' tax and provisions and in preparing the tax returns (incl. control of the accounts). You contribute to making the VAT, Instrastat and excise declarations in order to ensure that all VAT and tax are fulfilled for all entities;
• Reporting: You provide support in the reporting (intercompany reconciliation, calculation of transfer price fees, reporting control). Doing so, you provide a clear view on the company activities to the Group;
• Audit (Financial and SOX): You provide support in financial, tax and SOX audits and prepare the related controls. Doing so, you make sure that the financial records are conform to accountancy regulations;
• Coordination: You coordinate the day to day operations of the team members and you transfer
• relevant knowledge, in order to achieve the team objectives.

• You hold a Master Degree or equivalent through experience in Economics (Accountancy, Tax, etc.);
• You have approx. 3 to 5 years of experience in accountancy;
• Knowledge of SAP (FI) is a requirement;
• You are a MS Office (Excel and Word)-expert;
• You have strong communication skills and are a team player;
• Accuracy is part of your nature. You meet deadlines, are well structured, able to set priorities and are stress resistant;
• You are fluent in Dutch, French and English and have a passive knowledge of the German language.
